What are the Requirements to Apply for a Business Loan?

Answer:
If you need capital to start a business, you’ll
want to apply for a business loan. But first, you’ll need to make sure you have the information a lender will require before you request that loan.

A business loan request should include the following documentation:

A Detailed Business Plan
Your business plan should explain what your business is about, what services or products your business provides, as well as cash flow projections for your business. A sound business plan will also show how funds received will be appropriated.

Financial Statements
A lender will review both your financial statements, both personal and business, when considering your loan request. You need to make sure these statements are accurate and up-to-date.

Collateral
A lender may be more willing to loan you capital for your business if you’re able to provide some form of collateral to secure a loan.

If a traditional lender turns you down for a small business loan, you may be able to qualify for a loan under one of the SBA Business Loan Programs.
