What is a Federal Supplemental Loan for Students?

Answer:
The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity
Grant (FSEOG) Program
provides assistance to students with financial needs. This is a campus-based program and students must be in an undergraduate program. For students to receive these funds, the student must be in exceptional financial need and also be a recipient of a Federal Pell Grant.

Students may need to consider applying for an unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan. Parents may need to consider applying for a Federal PLUS loan. If a student requires additional financial aid they may want to consider a supplemental loan from a private lender. But first, before you receive any funding for school, whether loans or grants, you must go to the financial aid office and complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Your financial aid office will also be able to help you with any other questions you may have regarding the various types of federal student loans.
